Earn Extra Money with a Seasonal, Part-Time Business

Created: On December 3, 2008 @ 2:38 pm In

The holiday season can allow you to use your creativity to earn extra money to pay down debt. Even if you don’t have a lot of time to devote to a business venture, there are things you can do to spread holiday cheer and make some cash.

My husband has earned extra money the last couple of years by offering personalized, handwritten [1] letters from Santa. Setting up his Web site cost very little, and it doesn’t take long for him to write each letter.

Here are some other ideas that could help you earn money to pay down debts:

  • Offer to decorate people’s homes for the holidays. Many folks love the idea of having lights and outdoor displays but don’t have the time or supplies to put it together. You’ll need to have a good source of Christmas decorations, as well as ladders and other tools to put them up.
  • Start a personal shopping business for family, friends and neighbors. Many people rush to do their shopping on their lunch breaks or at other crunch times, and may be willing to pay you to take over that chore.
  • A friend of ours makes cheesecakes and banana puddings to sell during the holiday season. If you’re good at baking, you may be able to offer your services to people you know who need treats for holiday parties.

These are just a few suggestions for ways to earn extra cash. Use your creativity and I’m sure you can come up with something that fits your time and talents.
